Every Thursday – Meet at NMVC before 8 AM to form carpools to drive to the trailheads.  Bring water and snacks/lunch.  We may stop to eat after the hike.

Jan 4 Quartz Loop, Phoenix

Near Piestewa Peak.  We will start at the north end of Squaw Peak Drive and hike a 4.5 mile loop using trails 200/200A/8A/8.  Moderate to difficult for novice hikers.

Jan 11 Wild Horse/Maricopa Trail, Mesa

This will be a one way hike with car shuttle.  About 7 miles with 500 elevation gain and rated easy.  We may see wild horses and we may not.

Jan 18 Peralta Trail to Fremont Saddle, Superstition Wilderness

This is one of the premier hikes in Arizona.  It is 6 miles long with a 1366 foot elevation gain and rated difficult for novice hikers.

Jan 25 Rio Salado Trails, Phoenix

This hike will take us along a restored portion of the Salt River just south of downtown Phoenix.  The hike is 6 miles long with no noticeable elevation gain.
