Oct 5 Lockett Meadow to Inner Basin, Flagstaff

This is our fall color hike.  It is about a 6 mile loop with maybe 1000 ft elevation gain.  Some can do a shorter in and out hike if desired.  The elevation is over 8000 ft through a beautiful aspen forest into the inner basin of the San Francisco Peaks.  Moderate to hard due to elevation.

Oct 12 Prescott Circle Trail Segment 3, Prescott

We will start at the aspen creek trailhead on Copper Basin Road and hike north on trails 383 and 327 to the junction with trail 322.  We will turn around at this point and return to the trailhead.  Total distance is about 6 miles and the elevation is in-between 5800 and 6400 ft.  This hike is a continuation of the Quartz Peak hike we did this summer.  Moderate hike.

Oct 19 Fossil Creek Falls/Montezuma’s Well, Camp Verde

We will do two shorter hikes.  First, we will hike a 2 mile round trip to the falls of Fossil Creek  Then we will go to Montezuma’s Well National Monument (senior pass or per car fee).  We can hike around and into the well area and the outlet and see the cliff dwellings.  There is a nice picnic area with tables and restrooms so bring a picnic lunch.  This will be an easy and fun day.

Oct 26 Highline Trail See Canyon TH to Tonto Creek Road, Payson

This will be a one-way hike with a car shuttle.  We will drop a car on Tonto Creek Road (FR 289) at trail 32, our end point, and then drive to the See Canyon TH near Christopher Creek.  We hike about 7.9 miles.  More difficult due to the length of the hike.  Should not be a large elevation change but I have not hiked this section of the trail before.
