The Maricopa Trail runs along here and the scenery is spectacular no matter what time of year we go.  Because of the heat\, we’re only planning to go 4 miles but if it’s a cool day and the group decides we can venture farther on Maricopa Trail. It will be an up and back route.\nRestrooms available.\nBE ADVISED\, THERE IS A $7.00 PER CAR CHARGE AT THE GATE. Arrange rideshare on your own. \nDrive Instructions: Take Carefree Hwy to 32nd Street. North on 32nd. Follow to the pay gate. Past there\, just stay on the road .Go past the horse corrals.  Pass the rest rooms on your right\, then turn left to the big parking lot.

We’ll try to take in the most scenic areas for those not yet familiar with on of Arizona’s most popular hiking areas.  There will be some elevation\, but nothing strenuous and the trails are usually in great shape making an easy to moderate hike.  \nDrive Instructions: Take Cave Creek Rd into the town of Cave Creek. As the road bends to go East\, watch for Spur Cross Rd to go left. No Light.\nFollow SCR as it jogs left\, and follow the signs to the trailhead.\nThere is a pay station inside the park. We meet in the big lot at the end of the road and walk together to the pay station.  Fees have recently gone up so have some dollar bills\, maybe 10.

DESCRIPTION:Arizona Blues Hall Of Famer Eric Ramsey is the winner of the International Blues Challenge as well as the Memphis Cigar Box Guitar Award for the outstanding guitarist in the Solo/Duo Category. He’s a champion of the Phoenix Blues Society’s Blues Showdown\, finalist at the Telluride Blues Challenge\, the winner of the Stefan George Memorial Songwriting Contest sponsored by the Tucson Folk Festival\, winner of the Peoples’ Choice Award at the Wildflower Arts and Music Festival\, and a finalist in the Al Johnson Songwriting Competition. He’s been a featured performer at the Dripping Springs (TX) Songwriter’s Festival\, the Grand Mesa (CO) Songwriter Festival\, the Livingston (MT) Songwriter Festival\, and has garnered numerous other accolades for his songwriting. He performs at concerts and festivals nationwide.\nEric is a perennial favorite on the Folk and Blues and Songwriter Festival circuits not only for his dynamic\, engaging performances but for his open tuning and slide guitar workshops as well.\nWith soaring vocals and organic arrangements\, Eric’s original compositions reflect his musical influences\, but come from a place all their own. He writes from experience about the human condition – stark\, at times sensitive\, at times humorous\, always thought-provoking.
