Hike Description: Bring a snack for a short break along the way. Bring lots of water of course.
Bring $3.00 Pay station at the TH
We will start walking on paved road to the trailhead
This trail winds through scenic desert with short ups and downs approx. 2 miles to the Dixie Mine. There are some nice Petroglyphs to see near here.
Depending upon the group we can return to the TH by the same route or continue up the wash to a boulder area, a nice place for a snack break before heading back. There are also some tailings we can explore if interested.
Drive Instructions: Meet at NMVC 6:30 for carpool or TH at 8AM. Park just outside a gated neighborhood and we’ll gather there. Golden Eagle Trailhead
Take:
Shea Blvd East to Palisades. Left on Palisades1.6 mi. Left onto Sunridge Dr.2.7 mi. Left onto Golden Eagle Blvd/ Mt. Pkwy to the gate parking. Restroom here.
