Hike Description: Follow the Lake around to connect with trail #396. This takes us to Bannon Spring, a scenic pool of water and a great place to sit for a snack and for photos. We will turn around and head back, or if the group decides to hike a bit more we can make it happen. The trail is usually in good shape as we gradually ascend through the pines with lots of nice view points. We will find a table and sit for awhile so bring your lunch which can be left in the car on ice.
Drive Instructions: I-17 N. to exit 262 to Prescott. 33 miles. Merge onto to East Gurley St. Turn left at the light onto S. Mt. Vernon Ave (Senator Hwy) At approx. 8 miles, turn Right at Goldwater Lake. There is a pay station so have $5.00 per car (could be $7) ready. Park by the ramadas. Bring a lunch so we can have a picnic by the lake after the hike. Restrooms available.
