This is 6 miles and 850 feet elevation change .  We will split the group if more than 15 come and Doug will lead the first group up the hill.  The trail up Union Peak is an in and out so if one doesn’t want to do steep uphill hike they can wait at the junctions for the group to return and hike back  to the TH with them.  \nDrive Instructions: Google has good instructions. 1901 W Desert Vista Trail\, Phoenix.

Fiddles\, dulcimers\, banjos\, guitars\, harps\, accordions\, mandolins\, dobros\, zithers\, upright bass\, Irish whistles\, flutes\, bodhrans\, rhythm bones\, spoons\, and more. \nAll are welcome  \nWe have been gathering around the Valley sharing tunes and songs for over 20 years. We play a mix of traditional fiddle tunes\, Appalachian Mountain music\, Canadian\, Irish & Scottish tunes (jigs\, polkas\, reels\, waltzes\, hornpipes) and more.

(Y/N) Yes \nCarpool Time & Location: Fountain Hills Target east side of lot. at 7 AM be there 10 mins early to work out the drivers/cars going. \nHike Distance (estim): 5 miles \nHike Time (estim): 3 \nElevation Chg (approx ft\, optional): ft \nHike Description: From the general store\, we’ll head East on a counter clockwise loop around the lake. There are many photo ops along this trail so we may be stopping occasionally to view scenery or wildlife. We have spotted Osprey and Bald Eagles in past times.\nBring your lunch and we’ll have a picnic after the hike. Lunches can be left in the car with ice.\nThis trip is an excellent opportunity to experience the amazing view from the Mogollon Rim on the way home. \nDrive Instructions: Take the Beeline Hwy (Arizona 87) to Payson\, (about 1.5 to 2 hrs.)\nDrive into town to Junction with state route #260. Go right (East) past Kohl’s Ranch to where the road tops out on the Mogollon Rim. The lake is about 30 miles from Payson.\nTurn left onto Forest Rd 300\, follow the road for 5 miles to Woods Canyon Lake and the boat launching pad. Park near the general store. Restrooms available.
