DESCRIPTION:Please join us for our open Old-Time Jam Sessions at North Mountain Visitor Center (NMVC). Players of all ages and ability come together in the time-honored tradition of gathering and playing music. \n​We encourage acoustical instruments to share in these traditional tunes. Fiddles\, dulcimers\, banjos\, guitars\, harps\, accordions\, mandolins\, dobros\, zithers\, upright bass\, Irish whistles\, flutes\, bodhrans\, rhythm bones\, spoons\, and more. \nAll are welcome  \nWe have been gathering around the Valley sharing tunes and songs for over 20 years. We play a mix of traditional fiddle tunes\, Appalachian Mountain music\, Canadian\, Irish & Scottish tunes (jigs\, polkas\, reels\, waltzes\, hornpipes) and more. \n \n

DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, June 21\, 2025\, 9-11 A.M. \nGlen picked up his first guitar at the age of 13 and hasn’t put it down since. Glen is a veteran performer and founding member of one of the most popular bands to emerge from Iowa\, Jif and the Choosy Mothers. The band played to packed houses for more than 35 years and opened for the likes of ZZ Top\, The Grassroots and the Gin Blossoms. Following the retirement of that band\, Glen developed a solo act that has been honed at coffee houses and clubs from Boston to Phoenix. \n  \nCoffee House Saturdays occurs every third and fourth Saturday of the month at the North Mountain Visitor Center (NMVC) located at 12950 North 7th Street in Phoenix. \nFree hot coffee\, refreshments and live music offered from 9 AM to 11 AM. \nAdmission is always free. \nDonations to Save Our Mountains Foundation (501c3) are always welcome. Any purchases made at our gift shop go toward supporting facility operations and our nonprofit’s mission of protecting the preserve for future generations. \nCall 602-343-5125 with any questions.
